BLACK AGATE

The agate is a chalcedony with bands, occasionally mixed. The bands can be of different colors or also of a very uniform tone

3,000 years ago, the agate was already used as a gem by the Egyptians. It is currently used in art objects, jewelry stones and also in industry because of its toughness and acid resistance. The most common colors are red, orange, brown, white, gray and bluish gray. But the agate can be colored artificially. The procedure varies according to the desired color and is applied after the gem has been stoned. The ancient Romans already knew the art of dyeing them.
